Born in 1962, Raffaele Riva has Swiss and Italian citizenship; he speaks French fluently, Italian and English, is a member of the Monaco Yacht Club and the London Reform Club and has obtained the status of Benefactor Member of the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana (OSI). He graduated in Economics with a specialization in corporate finance, tax and banking law, accounting and related sectors at the Catholic University del Sacro Cuore of Milan. In 1989 he became a qualified accountant obtaining a degree in Chartered Accountant and completed postgraduate studies in 1997 with the SSQEA diploma at the Canton Ticino Management Business School and in 1998 with the SUPSI diploma. He is registered in the Register of Chartered Accountants of Milan, to the Register of Statutory Auditors of Rome, the Italian Association of Anti-money Laundering Agents,the Trust Association in Italy.
In 2006 Raffaele Riva started his first technology company which allowed him to obtain a significant exit in terms of capital by becoming a Business Angel. With the sale of his first company, Raffaele Riva found the economic strength to start investing in many innovative start-ups, gaining over time the reputation and esteem of the international business world. One of the most important creatures of Raffaele Riva is the Aurea Multi Family Office, founded in 2008 and still under the co-ownership of Riva he is chairman of the companies controlled by Aurea: the BGB Aurea Ltd, Milano Fiduciaria, the Aurea Consulenti Associati SA and Aurea Gestioni Patrimonialia SA. Even before Aurea and its affiliates, Riva managed several consulting firms from 1997 to 2008, this allowed him to specialize in business financing, and on business assets, holdings management, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), international tradings. During his career he was a member of the Administrative Board of several international companies located among other continents, in South America and Europe. From 1988 to 1992 he worked for the Big 4 company in Milan and Manchester and having carried out the duties of Supervisory Assistance and Management in the fields of accounting.
